I just heard that I’ve been ‘accused’ of being the mastermind and organizer of the great and very successful petition drive yesterday. Although I would be honored to have that great distinction, the truth is I was one of many followers of some really talented and dedicated organizers that made yesterday such a success.

The fact that there is a false accusation out there is not bothersome to me. The problem I am having is the underlying tone of those making the accusations is one of disbelief that I, as an elected official, am participating in the signing of the petitions at all, much less

We Meant That.....

That "No more business as Usual" thing...Yeah, we meant that.

Two years ago when I started campaigning, I assured voters that we would push for "no more business as usual".  We committed to taking a serious stand against over regulation and government intrusion on our private property rights.  We vowed to do the right thing for the taxpayers of Spartanburg County even when it wasn't popular or convenient.  We vowed to always stand firm on principle.  

Great strides have been made over these last two years, but the campaigning has not slowed down.  I still continue my door to door approach every year as if my election was right around the corner.  I firmly believe that I am not asking for your vote, I am asking for your trust.  Trust is not something that is earned once every four years - it is earned every single day.

Brown Vs. Wright or Brown Vs. Rights?

Being a true believer in the ENTIRE Constitution, including the 2nd Amendment, I think it's very important for us all to realize that the Founding Fathers were not giving us rights, they were clarifying rights that we already had as free created individuals.  Monday at our council meeting we heard a speech from my friend and fellow Councilman, Michael Brown, who may have a different perspective.  Here is the video of his comments that seem, to many, to be directed toward our Sheriff, Chuck Wright.  As always, you be the judge:
